    You can increase the storage capacity of your computer by replacing the hard disk drive with one of greater capacity. You can purchase a new hard disk drive from your IBM reseller or IBM marketing representative, or by visiting IBM on the Web.

  • Page 26 Message: 0220: Monitor type error Solution: The monitor type does not match the type specified in CMOS. Run the IBM BIOS Setup Utility to make sure that your monitor type matches the type specified in the utility. Message: 0230: Shadow RAM error Solution: The shadow RAM failed.

Solution: The battery power is getting low. Connect the ac adapter to the computer, or replace the battery pack with a fully charged one. Problem: When you take action to return from standby mode, the LCD remains blank.

    This is a normal characteristic of a hard disk drive and is not a defect. Problem: The hard disk drive does not work. Solution: In the startup menu in IBM BIOS Setup Utility, make sure that there is no exclamation point to the left of the hard-disk drive. If there is such a mark, the hard-disk drive is disabled.

    If you forgot your hard-disk password or supervisor password, you cannot reset your password. You have to take your computer to an IBM reseller or an IBM marketing representative to have the system board replaced. A fee will be charged for parts and service. Proof of purchase is required, and an additional charge might be required for the service.
