Maintenance Guidelines for Severe
Duty Applications
The above maintenance schedule is based
on the average typical application. If the
vehicle is operated under "severe conditions",
service procedures should be conducted more
frequently than specified. The frequency of
service under severe conditions is determined by
the use of the vehicle. The owner/operator must
evaluate the operating environment to determine
the increase in maintenance frequency.
In addition, the entire vehicle should be
inspected monthly for signs of damage.
The following list is meant as a guide and is not
all-inclusive of a "severe duty" application.
• Usage in excess of 150 hours per month.
• Extreme temperature.
• Bumpy, dusty, or ill maintained roads.
• Excessively wet areas.
• Corrosive or contaminated areas.
• Frequent loading of the vehicle at/near
capacity.
