IMPORTANT: THIS UNIT IS NOT SUITABLE FOR USE AS A
SMOKE AND FIRE DETECTOR, NOR IS IT
SUITABLE FOR INSTALLATION IN
HAZARDOUS LOCATIONS AS DEFINED IN THE
NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE.

Normal Mode Operation

Once the unit is plugged into the wall outlet the green power indicator
should light up indicating that power is present and the unit is working.
The RED indicator will flash approximately once every three seconds
to indicate the unit is operating properly. After an initial two-and-a-half
minute warm-up period the unit will start the process of continually
sampling the air in the atmosphere around it.

Trouble Signal

The unit is equipped with internal diagnostics that allow for continuous
automated testing of the sensor. If a fault in the operation of the unit is
detected, the audible alarm will begin beeping once every 5 seconds and
continue to beep indefinitely until power is removed from the unit. If the
unit exhibits such a fault condition, disconnect the unit from the power
immediately and call Family Safety Products, Inc. at 616-530-6540.

Alarm Mode Operation

If high-combustible gas levels (such as: natural gas and propane) are
detected, continuous operation of the RED indicator and the rapid
beeping (once per second) of the audible buzzer will indicate a possibly
dangerous condition. The alarm condition will continue until the
concentration of gas drops below a detectable level.
