Installation
The SafetySiren™ for Combustible Gas plugs directly into a standard
110-volt AC household outlet. This socket should not be cotrolled by
a switch: this will prevent someone from inadvertently turning off
the unit. The ventilation slots must not be blocked and the unit must
be kept free of dust. A proper airflow must be maintained through the
unit to obtain an air sampling representative of that area of the house
where the sensor is situated. The only maintenance the unit requires is
a thorough vacuuming once every month.
CAUTION: When the unit has been stored unplugged for several
weeks, its sensitivity to combustible gases will decline.
To restore the unit to normal sensitivity, allow a 24-
hour warm-up period.
WARNING: There are no user serviceable parts inside the unit.
Removing the back cover will void the warranty.
Areas to Avoid
Do not locate the detector where the flow of air through the ventilation
slots might be blocked. The unit must be located at least three feet
from any gas appliance to eliminate false alarms but should not be
placed over 20 feet from such appliances. Locate the unit away from
any sources of vapor such as alcohol, liquor, vehicle exhaust, hair
spray, cleaning agents, deodorants, paint, fluorocarbons, or industrial
solvents because vapors from these substances will trigger false
alarms.

años contra defectos de los materiales o de la mano de obra. Esta garantía
comienze a partir de la fecha de adquisición. Las unidades que sean
devueltas al fabricante durante este período por motivo de tales defectos,
serán reparadas o reemplazadas sin cargo alguno. Para solicitar reparaciones
dentro del período cubierto por la garantía, o después de después de haber
recibido una unidad defectuosa, llame a Family Safety Products al 616-
530-6540 y se la dará un Return Authorization Number (RAN - Número
de Aprobación de Devoluciones). Dirija el envíe a la dirección que figura
más abajo. Envíenos el producto adjuntando el franqueo para la devolución
del equipo reparado o reemplazado y el comprobante de la fecha de
adquisición. Escriba una nota describiendo el problema e incluya el RAN.
La garantía cubre únicamente los defectos de material o de mano de obra
en unidades sometidas a uso normal, pero no cubre daños por manejo
negligente, uso indebido o cuidado inapropiado. Importante: no retire
la cubierta trasera. El hecho de retirar la cubierta trasera tendrá como
resultado la anulación de la garantía. Esta garantía prevalece sobre
cualquier otra garantía, bien sea ésta explícita o implícita.
