Important Safety Instructions - Ryobi EHG1600K Owner's Operating Manual

Before starting work, please take a few minutes to carefully read all instructions.
Pay close attention to safety guidelines and warnings included for your
protection. Save these instructions for future use.
WARNING:
1. To reduce risk of fire or electric shock, do not
expose to rain or moisture. Store indoors.
2. Nozzle gets extremely hot, avoid contact with skin
or other surfaces.
3. For safe operation, read manual thoroughly.
4. When servicing, use only Ryobi replacement
parts.
5. Never use the heat gun as a hair dryer!
6. Never direct the hot airflow toward people or
animals.
7. Never use the heat gun near flammable materials
or gases.
8. Never obstruct the hot airflow by blocking or
covering the air outlet.
9. Never touch the hot air nozzle. It becomes
extremely hot.
10. Wear protective work gloves at all times.
11. Never touch the nozzle to any surface when
running the gun or shortly after running.
12. Always wear eye protection when removing paint
from overhead positions.
13. Do not wear loose-fitting clothing or jewellery.
Wear nonskid footwear and a protective hair
covering to contain long hair.
14. Maintain proper footing & balance at all times.
15. Keep the gun handle dry, clean, and free from oil
and grease.
16. Do not force the tool or accessories, and use only
for the purpose intended.
17. Always store gun in an upright position or hang it
up by its convenient hanger.
18. Never use the tool in wet environments or areas
of high humidity (for eg. bathroom, steamrooms).
19. Never use the gun in the rain or on extremely
damp days.
20. Never poke anything down inside the hot air
nozzle.
21. Always allow the heat gun to cool down
completely before storing it.
22. Always store the gun in a safe place, out of the
reach of children. It is not a toy.
23. Know the work environment. Areas behind
ceilings and floors, may contain highly flammable
materials. Always check these areas before
applying heat.

IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

24. Keep work area clean and uncluttered.
25. Keep work area well lit.
26. Keep children and visitors away from work area,
the tool, and extension cords.
27. Guard against electric shock by preventing
contact with grounded surfaces (for eg. pipes,
radiators, ranges, refrigerator enclosures).
28. Never carry the gun by its power cord or pull the
cord from an electrical outlet.
29. Use only properly rated extension cords.
30. Inspect extension cords periodically and replace
if damaged.
31. Inspect tool cord regularly. If the supply cord of
this equipment is damaged, it must be replaced
b y t h e s p e c i a l c o r d a v a i l a b l e f r o m t h e
manufacturer or it's authorised service agent.
32. When tool is used outdoors, employ only
extension cords intended for use outdoors.
33. When working on small or irregular shaped
objects secure work in a vice or clamps.
34. Disconnect the tool when not in use. Avoid
unintentional starting. If the gun stops during
operation, disconnect from the power supply and
have gun serviced by authorised service
personnel.
35. Stay Alert! Always pay attention to the work at
hand and use common sense when operating this
and all tools. Do not operate the tool when you
are tired or taking medication or drugs that may
make you drowsy.
36. The appliance is not intended for use by young
children or infirm persons without supervision.
Young children should be supervised to ensure
that they do not play with the appliance.
37. This tool must be placed on its stand when not in
use. A fire may arise if the appliance is not used
with care. Be careful when using the appliance in
places where there are combustible materials.
38. Do not apply to the same place for a long time.
39. Do not use in presence of an explosive
atmosphere.
40. Heat may be conducted to combustible materials
which are out of sight.
41. Place on its stand after use and allow to cool
before storage.
42. Do not leave the appliance unattended when in
use.
