IMPORTANT:
DANGER: CARBON MONOXIDE. NEVER use a generator inside homes, garages,
crawl spaces, or other partially enclosed areas. ONLY use a generator outside
and far away from windows, doors, and vents.

• Follow proper startup procedures. Read the user manual before operating.

PREPARING THE GENERATOR

Place the generator on a rm, level surface before proceeding.
1. ADD OIL
Engine crankcase oil capacity: 17 . oz.
Recommend using 30W, 4-stroke engine oil above 40° F
Remove the dipstick, add oil slowly to ll crank case to the bottom thread of the ll
hole. Be careful not to over ll. Never tilt the generator to ll, always keep it level.
Check for oil leaks and rmly tighten the dipstick.
Check oil level before each use. Add oil if oil level is below the bottom thread.
2. ADD GASOLINE
Fuel tank capacity: 4 gallons
Use fresh (within 30 days from purchase), lead-free gasoline with a
minimum of 87 octane rating. Never use an oil/gasoline mixture.
Unscrew fuel cap. Slowly add unleaded gasoline and do not ll to the very top to allow
for expansion. Reinstall fuel cap and wipe clean any spilled gasoline with a dry cloth.
Always turn o generator and allow to cool before refueling. Check for spilled
fuel before operating. Avoid getting dirt or water into the fuel tank.
3. CONNECT THE BATTERY
Remove the protective covering from the free end of the negative battery cable.
Attach it to the battery and secure the connection.
4. GROUND THE GENERATOR
For increased safety, tighten the grounding nut
on the front control panel against a grounding
wire and connect the other end to a copper,
brass, or steel-grounding rod that is driven into
the earth. A generally acceptable grounding wire
is a No. 12 AWG (American Wire Gauge) stranded
copper wire.
Grounding codes can vary by location.
Contact a local electrician to check the area codes.

• Generator is properly grounded.
• Oil and fuel are filled to the right amount.
• No electrical device is plugged in.
2. PREPARE
• Turn the Fuel Valve to the "ON" position.
• Move the Choke Lever to the "CLOSE/START" position.
• Set the ON/OFF Switch to the "ON" position.
3. START ENGINE

USING THE GENERATOR

1. PLUG IN
Plug in each electrical device. Make sure that the devices are turned off.
NOTE: The total running wattage of the generator's load should not exceed 3750W.
An easy way to approximate your draw is that 1 amp equals roughly 120 watts. It is
not recommended to draw more than 2400W from any single 120 volt receptacle.
2. CHECK
Check the overload light and power indicator light. If the overload light is on,
disconnect the entire load, and press the power reset button before plugging the
loads back in. If the reset button does not reset, wait several minutes and try again.
