6.1
Running:
Connect the module to SIM900B EVB via the X101(60pins connector), inserting 5V DC

adapter to X201 connector, switch S1 to OFF state and S2 to ON state.
Press the PWRKEY for about 1 second, and then the module begins running.

The light on the EVB will flash at a certain frequency to indicate different working status, and
please refer to the module's Hardware Document for details. Function test can not be executed
without the necessary accessories.
6.2
Connecting Net and Calling
Connect the serial port cable to X401 connector (MAIN serial port); open the HyperTerminal

(AT command windows), the location of the HyperTerminal in Microsoft Windows2000\
WindowsXP is Start→Accessory→Communication→ HyperTerminal.
Set correct Baud Rate and COM number. The default setting of module's serial port is

autobauding,and autobauding supports baud rates as following:1200, 2400, 4800, 9600,
19200, 38400, and 57600bps. Please set HyperTerminal band rate as one of the above to
make sure communicating successfully at the first time.
Connect the antenna and module via an antenna transmit line, insert SIM card into the SIM

card interface, and then insert handset into X301 connector or headset into X302 connector.
Follow the step of running as mentioned above to power on the system, send the AT
4)
commands to the module through the HyperTerminal, and then the module will perform
corresponding functions.
6.3
Downloading
Connect the serial port cable to X402 connector (debug port) and 5V DC adapter to X201
connector. After running the download program, switch S1 to ON state and then switch S2 to ON
state as well, then the downloading procedure will be executed.
6.4
Turns off
Press the PWRKEY for about 1 second, SIM900B module will be turned off.
Note:
The SIM900B EVB is almost the same with the SIM300 EVB. The difference between the two
EVBs are as following:

Board to board connector: on SIM900B EVB, the connector is SUNCAGEY's
BB530-06001-20R; on SIM300 EVB, the connector is ENTERY Company's
1008-G60N-01R or JXT's 210-106001-001.
●
R411: on SIM900B EVB, R411 is 15k ohm; on SIM300 EVB, R411 is 0 ohm.
