transmission problems when the signal source and the
output device use different HDCP versions. It enables
a bidirectional conversion of the HDCP version
(1.4 to 2.2 or 2.2 to 1.4). The power is supplied via an
included micro USB cable.

If both devices have the same HDCP version then the unit will operate in a pass through mode. To use simply connect a HDMI cable from your source to the input and a HDMI cable from the output to the display.
