Ocu-Film + Instructions
Proper set up of the Ocu-Film
+ tip cover is essential for the precision and

accuracy of the tonometry measurement. A new Ocu-Film + tip cover must be
used for each new patient. Be certain that the film is flat across the tip, but not
too taut or too loose.
Position the Ocu-Film +
Roll the Ocu-Film + tip
applicator on the transducer.
Taking an IOP Measurement
To take a measurement, press the button once. [88
played, followed by a double row of dashes [= = = =], indicating the Tono-Pen is
ready to measure.
The corneal surface needs only to be momentarily contacted. Indentation or
excessive pressure is not required and may lead to injury to the eye.

Verification Procedure
1. Hold the Tono-Pen
with the transducer end pointed straight down toward the floor.

2. Press and hold the button for 5 seconds. The instrument will "beep" 5 times and
the LCD will display [dn].
3. Hold the Tono-Pen steady for 5 seconds until the device "beeps" and the LCD
displays [UP].
4. Quickly and smoothly flip the Tono-Pen up, so the transducer is pointing straight up.
5. A properly functioning Tono-Pen will display [Pass] and the device will "beep".
Press the operating button again to ready the pen for a measurement.
6. If [Fail] is displayed, repeat this verification procedure.

AVIA covered with
an Ocu-Film + tip
cover at all times,
even in storage.
Verification must be successfully performed:
• When battery has been replaced
• Whenever the measurements are in
question
Verification can be performed with or with-
out an Ocu-Film + tip cover installed.
Note: The first thing to be displayed on the
LCD screen during verification mode
is [dn] for down.
