6.3 Installing the USB Driver

Double-click Handset WinDriver1.3.exe on your computer desktop and follow the onscreen
instructions.

6.4 Upgrade Methods

6.4.1 Performing a USB Upgrade

Use the upgrade tool HUAWEI THMTK6515ML02Ver1003 (1312) for USB upgrades. See
the following attachment for guidance.
The upgrade is capable of data erasing and software upgrade, eliminating the need of a
dedicated data erasing tool and meeting the customer service requirements. For details, see
the guide.

6.4.2 Performing a mircoSD Card Upgrade

Step 1 Prepare the microSD card used for the upgrade.

Step 2 Choose the microSD upgrade method.

Format the microSD card using FAT32.
Create a dload folder in the microSD card's root directory.
Copy the upgrade package UPDATE.APP to the dload folder.

Do not change the names for the upgrade package and folder.

A microSD card upgrade will erase the internal memory of the phone.
Forcible upgrade
Remove and then re-install the battery, and press and hold the power, volume up, and
volume down keys. When the motor vibrates, release the power key. Do not release the
volume up or volume down keys unless the screen shown in Figure 6-2 is displayed.
Normal upgrade
Power on the phone, enter *#*#1673495#*#* on the dialer. The screen shown in Figure
6-1 is displayed.
