TROUBLE SHOOTING
In initially installing this amplifier improper connections t o a tuner or record
player may result in one of the following indications of trouble. Their possible
causes and corrective measures are listed below to facilitate installation.
INDICATIONS
No pilot lamp indication, no sound although AC
Poor AC plug connection.
Check ~ l u o contact.

No sound from LEFT and RIGHT,
SPEAKERS switched t o A

B position.

Both A-B groups of speakers are reouired in this case.
Sound only front one side.
Speaker cords disconnected.
Check connections from amp. output t o speakers.
SPEAKERS switched t o OFF.
SPEAKERS switch should be switched t o OFF only
when using stereo headphones.
Volume Control at
0
(Extreme left).
Set to appropriate volume level.
TAPE MONITOR switch at A (or 6 ) .
Always set t o SOURCE except when using tape record-
ers.

CHANNEL NORMAL-SEPARATE switch at
Always set to NORMAL except when using together

BALANCE control set t o one extreme or other.
Adiust BALANCE control.
Unbalance results when volume is lowered.
LEFT RIGHT resistor values unbalanced.
Adiust BALANCE control.
Difference in volume level of radio and phono.
Difference in received signal and phono output
Set to appropriate volume level

No sound from LEFT and RIGHT, or sound only
Player output disconnected.
See that player output cord

See that player output cord is firmly plugged into amp.

Sound audible but background hum occurs.
Player output cord picktng up hum from AC cord.
Keep player output cord away from AC cords.
Choose cord paths which keep hum at a minimum.
Twist LEFT RIGHT player output cords together.
Reverse player AC plug connections.

Connect player ground wire to GND terminals.

Route player cord so buzz hum i s minimized.
