Checking Blade Tilt, or Squareness
of Blade to Table
When the bevel pointer is pointing
directly to the "0" mark on the bevel
scale, the sawblade should make a
square cut 90° to the table.
WARNING: For your own safety,
turn switch "OFF" and remove
plug from power source outlet.
To check for squareness, 90° position:
1. Raise blade to 3" depth of cut.
2. Operate
the
tilt
(counter-clockwise) to loosen the
tilt clamp screw.
NOTE: Handle is spring loaded for
engagement with screw head - must
be pushed inward for disengagement
whenever necessary to obtain a new
grip on screw head. Always position
handle in downward position to
prevent binding when tilting the blade.
3. Rotate tilt handwheel clockwise a
few turns to tilt blade. Now, rotate
handwheel counterclockwise until it
stops. Blade should now be square
with table and pointer should point
to "0".
4. Place the square against blade.
Make sure square is not touching
the tip of one of the saw teeth.
A. If blade is square to table
1. Check pointer. If pointer does not
point to the "0" mark on the bevel
scale.
a. Remove
elevation
assembly.
b. To adjust loosen the screw and
position the pointer using a medium
screwdriver.
c. Install elevation handwheel assembly.
