• Return to the Iridium SOS icon
under the Utilities screen and select
the Iridium SOS icon. The icon will
have a red circle with a slash
appearing over it.
• Once the icon is selected it will ask
you if you wish to cancel the
emergency message.
• Select Yes.

The Iridium SOS function is independent of
the 406 MHz function. The Iridium only SOS
function enables a "distress notification" to
be immediately sent from the SARLink SOS-
300 via the Iridium satellite network to a
Network Operations Center (NOC) and
escalated to the appropriate personnel
within that organization (as opposed to a
traditional public 406 MHz distress alert).
The iridium only distress notification enables
an organization or entity to qualify,
communicate, resolve and or escalate to the
authorities, the emergency based on their
own emergency protocols and procedures
(as opposed to a public notification of NOAA
and the appropriate RCC through the formal
Cospas-Sarsat network 406 MHz distress
activation).
Access the Iridium SOS icon by pressing the
"Utilities" icon on the Home screen followed
by the "Iridium SOS" icon on the Utilities
screen.
