Problem
Cannot charge the
rechargeable battery.
Battery runs out quickly.
Shooting
Problem
The camera does not
shoot even if you press
the shutter release
button.
Unable to view the shot
image.
Images do not appear on
the picture display.
Nothing displays in the
LCD viewfinder.
Cause
Rechargeable battery has
reached the end of its useful life.
It is being used at extreme high or
low temperatures.
Many shots are being taken in
dark places or other location
requiring extensive use of flash.
Cause
Battery is exhausted.
The camera is not on.
The camera is in playback mode. Press the 6 (Playback) button
The shutter release button is not
pressed all the way.
The SD memory card is not
formatted.
The SD memory card is full.
The SD memory card has
reached the end of its useful life.
The flash is charging.
The SD memory card is locked.
The contact surface of the SD
memory card is dirty.
The image confirmation time is
too short.
The camera is not on or the
picture display is dark.
The picture display is off.
Display has been switched to the
LCD viewfinder.
The VIDEO/AV cable is
connected.
The LCD viewfinder is not fully
attached.
Solution
Replace with a new rechargeable
battery.

Solution
When using the dedicated
rechargeable battery or AAA
nickel-metal hydride batteries,
charge the batteries as required.
When using AAA alkaline
batteries or AAA oxyride
batteries, replace them with new
batteries.
Press the POWER button to turn
the camera on.
to select the shooting mode.
Press the shutter release button
all the way.
Format the card.
Load a new card, or delete
unwanted files.
Load a new SD memory card.
Wait until the Auto Focus/Flash
lamp stops blinking.
Unlock the card.
Wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
Lengthen the image confirmation
time.
Turn the camera on or adjust the
brightness of the picture display.
Press the VF/LCD button to turn
the picture display on.
Press the VF/LCD button to
switch to the picture display.
Disconnect the VIDEO/AV cable. P.175
Fully attach the LCD viewfinder.
