Decalcification

For best performance of the coffeemaker it will be necessary to decalcify the
unit from time to time. The frequency depends upon the hardness of your
tap water and how often the appliance is used. If you use your Brewer daily,
it is recommended to decalcify the unit every 4 months.
1
To decalcify the Brewer, remove any residual water from the Water
Reservoir and pour 32 ounces of undiluted white vinegar into the Water
Reservoir.
2
Change the auto-off time to 2 hours (See section Programming the Auto-
Off Setting).
3
Place a coffee mug on the Brewer and press the Large Cup Button
without any capsule in the Brewer. Empty the cup in the sink and repeat
this step until the Water Reservoir is empty. Once the Water Reservoir is
empty press the illuminated cup size button to stop the pump.
4
Rinse the Water Reservoir with water and fill with water to the MAX line.
Place Water Reservoir back on the Brewer. After 2 hours the Brewer
will turn off. Turn the Brewer back on, place a coffee mug on the Drip
Tray and press the Large Cup Button without any capsule in the Brewer.
Empty the cup in the sink and repeat this step until the Water Reservoir is
empty. Once the Water Reservoir is empty press the illuminated cup size
Button to stop the pump.
