Power Source • The LCD TV uses a power supply adapter that requires a 230V AC, 50Hz mains supply. Do not use any other supply. Do not use any other power supply adapter than the one supplied with your TV.

19" LCD Television The SCART connection will give the best video quality as it uses separate signals for the video RGB components. The RCA video connection carries the video components on a single composite signal. S-video is a compromise between component analogue video and the composite video.
GTVL19WDVD Installing The Remote Control Batteries Turn the remote control over, push the catch on the battery compartment door and lift it free. Insert the two AAA batteries following the polarity markings inside the battery compartment as shown below. We recommend the use of Ever Ready Energizer batteries.
19" LCD Television Selecting the Input Signal In addition to receiving TV signals your LCD TV can also be used as a monitor for a number of other devices. The various input signals are selected using the SOURCE button on either the LCD TV or the remote control.
GTVL19WDVD Tuning the TV Channels 1. Press the DISPLAY button on the remote control and check that the LCD TV is showing the TV input. 2. If it is not, repeatedly press the SOURCE button until TV is displayed in the top left corner of the screen.
19" LCD Television 6. Press the button to highlight ‘Auto Scan’ and press ENTER. The scan for channels will commence. The progress of the scan will be shown on a slide bar with the number of channels found as shown opposite. When the scan is complete the LCD TV will revert to the first channel found.
GTVL19WDVD 5. Use the buttons to select the first character of the name. 6. Press to move the second character position and then the buttons to select the second character of the name. 7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until the name is complete then press ENTER.
19" LCD Television Skipping Channels If the auto scan found channels that you do not intend to use they can be skipped so that they do not appear when using the CH+, CH- buttons. 1. Select the channel you wish to skip. 2.

NOTE: The Colour System will default to PAL which is the system used in the UK. If you have selected a different country in the tuning process (see page 14) the system may default to one of the alternatives, NTSC or SECAM.
19" LCD Television 2. Open the ‘PAL Europe Tuner’ menu as described previously. 3. Press the button to highlight ‘Manual Install’ and press ENTER. The Manual Install menu will be displayed with ‘Search’ highlighted. 4. Press the button twice to highlight ‘Fine Tune’ and use the buttons to adjust the tuning.
GTVL19WDVD Basic Operation Selecting the TV source Press the TV button or repeatedly press the SOURCE button until ‘TV’ is displayed in the top left corner of the screen. Selecting Channels Press either the CH and CH buttons or use the numeric buttons to enter the channel number directly.
19" LCD Television Sound Mode Your TV has an equalizer that can be set to enhance certain frequency bands to match the type of sound output, e.g. music, speech etc. Repeatedly press the SOUND button to switch between the various preset modes as listed below.
GTVL19WDVD Display You can view the current channel and audio settings by pressing the DISPLAY button. An information window will open in the top right of the picture as shown opposite. The information gives the input signal source, the audio setting, channel number and name.
19" LCD Television Teletext Teletext is an information system that displays text on your LCD TV. Using the teletext control buttons you can view pages of information that are listed in the teletext index. NOTE: No on screen menu display is available in text mode, but the volume controls will still operate.

19" LCD Television The coloured buttons will now open the page numbers you have selected. 888 Subtitles Some television programmes are broadcast with subtitles for the hearing impaired. The subtitles are on teletext page 888. To view the subtitles enter the teletext mode and search for page 888. When the page is found the television will automatically revert to the programme and the subtitles appear at the bottom of the screen.
GTVL19WDVD TV Setup Menus General Navigation 1. Press the MENU button to initially open the menu system. 2. Use the buttons to highlight selections. 3. Press ENTER to open submenus. 4. The MENU button is also used to go back up through the menu structure.
19" LCD Television 2. Use the buttons to highlight one of the preset options or the User setting and press ENTER. NOTE: If you change any of the picture attributes (brightness, contrast etc.) as described in the following sections, the picture mode is automatically set to the User option.
GTVL19WDVD Advanced Settings The Advanced menu is only available when you are in the DVD or PC monitor mode. It will be greyed out, i.e. unavailable, in the other modes of operation. For PC monitor mode refer to “PC Monitor Setup menus”...
19" LCD Television Bass, Treble and Balance Your TV has a number of preset sound settings and a User setting as described in “Sound Mode” on page 29. If you change the bass and treble settings as described in this section the sound mode will automatically change to User.

19" LCD Television Region code If the region code of the disc being played does not match the region code of this DVD player then the disc cannot be played. If you do try to do this a region violation notice will appear on the screen. The region code for this player is region 2 (refer to the symbols opposite).

The title and chapter numbers show the current setting and the total on the disc, so in the example above there are three titles and 26 chapters on the disc.

This option enables you to jump to a specified elapsed time for the current Chapter. The total time of the chapter will be displayed in h:mm:ss.
19" LCD Television Playing Audio CDs Insert an audio CD into the DVD player as described previously with the label towards the front of the TV. Play will automatically start at the first track. The track number, total number of tracks and elapsed time will be displayed.
