1 VALUE PROPOSITIONS The new CLAS B boiler from Ariston is a fusion of technology and reliability, of comfort and high performance levels. CUSTOMISED COMFORT AND ENERGY SAVING The innovative functions offered by CLAS B boiler enable the user to achieve maximum comfort within a room, while assuring minimum energy consumption and maximising energy efficiency.
  • Page 6: Advantages For The End User

1.1 ADVANTAGES FOR THE END USER With CLAS B, Ariston is hoping to bring the boiler closer to the requirements of end users, giving them the opportunity of interacting with their own appliance through a MULTIFUNCTIONAL INTERFACE WITH DIGITAL DISPLAY, which can be used to check appliance operation, ensure there is always a supply of hot water and guarantee the most suitable room temperature all day.
  • Page 7: Advantages For The Installer

ADVANTAGES FOR THE INSTALLER The CLAS B is easy to install because it is compact and light. Set up for installation with kit barrette and wide range substitution kits are available. The boiler is set up for use in a system which uses solar panels in series and in parallel and, where forced circulation is used, it can control the system without the addition of an extra P.C.B.
  • Page 8: Advantages For Service Technicians

ADVANTAGES FOR SERVICE TECHNICIANS The CLAS B boiler is easy to maintain. Thanks to frontal access for all components, the boiler is able to offer reduced maintenance times and most of the work can be performed without using tools. The two “stratification” storages ensure high performaces for long time and don’t need any maintenance work due to deposit of limestone on internal parts.
  • Page 9: Main Features Intended For The End User

CLAS B boiler from Ariston automatically recognises how many devices are connected to the boiler, and what type of devices these are (ON/OFF Room Thermostat, Room Sensor, Outdoor Sensor, Clima Manager), optimising the operation of the appliance.
  • Page 10: Optimised Power Modulation

2.1.2 Optimised power modulation This type of modulation, arising from the activation of the AUTO function, consists of the following points: At the start, the power is reduced by 30% in relation to the Maximum Heating Power and is Central Heating then increased gradually;...
  • Page 11: Quantifying Energy Savings

2.1.4 Quantifying energy savings If, for example, a 15-year old boiler is replaced with an Ariston Clas B, an immediate energy saving of 10% is obtained. RISPARMIO CLAS B 15-year old (normal operation) installation If the AUTO function is active, more than a better room comfort, it is assured a gas saving of more than 15%.
  • Page 12: Comfort Acustico (La Caldaia Che Toglie Il Disturbo)

2.1.6 Comfort acustico (La caldaia che toglie il disturbo) Thanks to the wide heating power modulation range, the CLAS B boiler is able to constantly adapt to the requested comfort level. This important feature enables the appliance to operate with a minimum energy consumption and guarantees a high level of acoustic comfort, thanks to the modulating fan and modulating circulation pumps that operate most of the time at a reduced speed, resulting in a considerable reduction in the amount of noise produced and electrical consumption.
  • Page 13: End User Faqs

END USER FAQS Who is responsible for the independent heating system? The owner or occupant is responsible for the system. What does “Self-diagnosis” mean? Self-diagnosis means having immediate information related to any operating errors which occur, whether temporary (these can be resolved automatically by the boiler) or persistent (these require the intervention of an authorised Assistance Centre).
  • Page 14 It is nevertheless recommended that the installation is checked and serviced every year, even if it is simply to ensure that all the components are operating efficiently and to avoid unnecessary consumption of excess gas. How can I save energy? Here are a few pieces of advice for saving energy and heating the room and domestic hot water in an environmentally-friendly way: Activate the AUTO function, to optimise the performance of the boiler in line with the type of system,...

COMFORT 3.6.1 DHW comfort The innovative system for Domestic Hot Water is designed to meet the news user’s requirements in terms of COMFORT and ENERGY SAVING needs. Consist of a stainless steel plate heat exchanger (1) where the heat exchange with primary circuit of the boiler and two accumulation storages, each of 21 liters of capacity, installed in series.
  • Page 26: Special Functions

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS In order to improve ENERGY SAVING and COFORT are always active “Energy recovery” e “Small tapping” functions. 3.7.1 Small tapping Usually in standard boilers the ignition of the boiler is managed by a flow-meter that when the flow-rate reaches a certain value (minimum flow-rate), gives the signal to the boiler to start to deliver hot water to the user.
  • Page 27: Energy Recovery

3.7.2 Energy recovery It a function to use all energy that otherwise will go lost ; in this way I get a saving and I can guarantee a better comfort. The function works optimizing the post circulation of the pump in the boiler. Usually post circulation starts at the end of an heating cycle (when the room temp has reached the set value by the user), the burner switches off, but the pump continue to run the water in the heating circuit avoiding overheating of the boiler and exploiting all energy inside the boiler that otherwise will get lost.
  • Page 28: Installer Faqs

3.8 INSTALLER FAQS Is it possible to perform thermoregulation? Yes, the boiler is set up for use with a digital remote control (Clima Manager)l and an outdoor sensor which enables the heating system flow temperature can fluctuate according to the current atmospheric conditions. The CLAS B is also set up for climatic temperature control with the option of controlling two zones.
