8. ADJUSTING PICTURE QUALITY (Continued)
ALC Adjustment (Light Metering)
Adjustment of light metering between average and peak can be obtained by adjusting ALC
Potentiometer. The method of ALC adjustment is as follows:-
Take off the ALC cap on the lens cover and turn the ALC potentiometer with a precision
screwdriver until suitable exposure is obtained
Turn clockwise for average metering
Turn anti-clockwise for peak metering
Level Adjustment (Image Signal Level Adjustment)
Image level of video signal can be re-adjusted by timing the level potentiometer when necessary
according to the characteristics of the camera and the light conditions of the objects.
It is normally unnecessary to make sensitivity adjustment since the video signal level is set to an
appropriate value at shipment. The method of re-adjustment, if necessary, is as follows:-
Take off the level cap on the lens cover and turn the level potentiometer with a precision
screwdriver so that the optimum level is obtained.
To get picture lighter turn clockwise in H direction
To get picture darker turn anti-clockwise in L direction
When suitable picture quality has been obtained by adjustment of the camera and lens, then the
monitor can be disconnected and the printer draw returned. Check power is on the printer and
close the printer door
9. NORMAL OPERATION OF THE CHUCK 'E'CHEESE PHOTO RIDE (2 COIN)
a) Power up the Photo Ride. A message will be heard (provided the volume switch is turned up)
which will state "the self test is complete". The lights on the toy should flash and power
should be on the printer
b) Insert 1 coin. Coin should be accepted by the coin mechanism and the counter should turn 1
digit. At this stage wait. After one second a message should be heard which will state "please
insert another coin". If a second coin is not inserted this message will repeat after six seconds
If a second coin is not inserted within two minutes the credit will be wiped from the timer.
Insert a second coin. The counter should turn 1 digit. Ride should start.
c) Approximately eight seconds into the ride a message will be heard "smile, you are about to
have your photograph taken". At this point the image seen by the camera will be accepted by
the printer and printing will proceed.
While printing is in progress NEVER remove power from the printer
d) Ride will continue through its cycle and immediately after the smile message is heard printing
will start and last for approximately five seconds. At the end of ride motion will stop and
picture can be collected.
