L. ADJUSTING THE FRONT FORK
LEGS
The following procedure applies to both of
the front fork legs.
WARNING
D Always adjust both front fork legs
evenly. Uneven adjustment can result
in poor handling and loss of stability.
D Securely support the vehicle so that
there is no danger of it falling over.
Spring preload
CAUTION:
Never go beyond the maximum or mini-
mum adjustment positions.
1. Adjust:
D spring preload
a. Turn the adjusting bolt (1) in direction (a)
or (b).
NOTE:
Be sure to align the alignment mark on the
adjusting bolt with the alignment mark on
the front fork cap.
Rebound damping
CAUTION:
Never go beyond the maximum or mini-
mum adjustment positions.
1. Adjust:
D rebound damping
a. Turn the adjusting screw (1) in direction
(a) or (b).
Direction (a)
Rebound damping is increased
(suspension is harder).
Direction (b)
Rebound damping is decreased
(suspension is softer).

Spring preload is increased
(suspension is harder).
Direction (b)
Spring preload is decreased
(suspension is softer).
Adjusting positions
Minimum: 2 turns in direction (b)*
Maximum: 11 turns in direction (b)*
*: from the standard position
NOTE:
To find the standard position, turn the ad-
justing bolt in direction (a) until it stop.
1. If the alignment mark on the adjusting
bolt is positioned past the alignment
mark on the front fork cap, turn the ad-
justing bolt in direction (b) until the align-
ment marks match.
Turn the adjusting bolt 3 complete turns
in direction (b), and be sure the align-
ment marks match.
This is the standard position.
2. If the alignment mark on the adjusting
bolt is positioned before the alignment
mark on the front fork cap, turn the ad-
justing bolt in direction (b) until the align-
ment marks match.
Turn the adjusting bolt 2 complete turns
in direction (b), and be sure the align-
ment marks match.
This is the standard position.
Adjusting positions
Standard: 12 clicks in direction (b)*
Minimum: 17 clicks in direction (b)*
Maximum: 1 clicks in direction (b)*
*: from the fully turned-in direction (a)
