OPERATION
 The signals from the TPMS transmitter are
received by the ETACS-ECU <vehicles without
Keyless Operation System> or KOS&OSS-ECU
<vehicles with Keyless Operation System>.
 ETACS-ECU <vehicles without Keyless Opera-
tion System> or KOS&OSS-ECU <vehicles with
Keyless Operation System> processes input sig-
nals from each TPMS transmitter as well as vehi-
cle speed signals from the ASC-ECU. It receives
the atmospheric pressure signal from ECM, and
when the atmospheric pressure is low (such as at
high altitude), it calibrates the tire pressure
received from TPMS transmitter and makes a
judgment of warning. When the road tire pressure
is low, ETACS-ECU <vehicles without Keyless
Operation System> or KOS&OSS-ECU <vehicles
with Keyless Operation System> sends a warn-
ing signal causing the TPMS warning light to be
illuminated. When the TPMS has problems,
ETACS-ECU <vehicles without Keyless Opera-
tion System> or KOS&OSS-ECU <vehicles with
Keyless Operation System> sends a warning sig-
nal causing the TPMS warning light to be

TPMS WARNING LIGHT AND DISPLAY
The TPMS warning light on the combination meter illuminates
or flashes
<vehicles without Keyless Operation System> or
KOS&OSS-ECU <vehicles with Keyless Operation System>.
When the tire pressure warning or the fault warning is acti-
vated, a warning symbol are displayed on the combination
meter.

TSB Revision
 For 3 seconds after the ignition switch (engine
starting switch) is turned to the "ON" position,
ETACS-ECU <vehicles without Keyless Opera-
tion System> or KOS&OSS-ECU <vehicles with
Keyless Operation System> illuminates the
TPMS warning light to check any breaks in the
TPMS warning light circuit.
 By connecting the scan tool to the data link con-
nector, data stored in ETACS-ECU <vehicles
without Keyless Operation System> or
KOS&OSS-ECU <vehicles with Keyless Opera-
tion System> (data of tire pressure and tire pres-
sure sensor ID, the alarm status and warning
history, etc.) can be displayed and tire pressure
sensor ID can be registered.
 Two sets of four TPMS transmitters can be regis-
tered as sets 1 and 2.
NOTE: If the TPMS transmitter is replaced, regis-
ter the ID codes of all the TPMS transmitters
again about the ID set of tire which includes the
replaced transmitter using the scan tool
MB991958.
 Low tire inflation pressure warning threshold
value reset and tire ID set changeover can be
performed. (By registering two sets at the dealer
in advance, the tire ID set can be freely switched
by operating the combination meter.)
NOTE: When the tire ID set is switched, the low
tire inflation pressure warning threshold value will
be automatically reset.
