downloaded at no cost at
After successfully installing the BioTerm program and preparing the
Reader with the previous mentioned RS-232 settings you are ready
to begin. Plug the AC Power/Communication cable into the PC,
using the serial connection or USB to serial adaptor provided.
Power on the Reader and select the appropriate COM Port from
the drop down menu next to 'Serial Port'. Most computers have
only one COM Port, which usually defaults to COM1.
NOTE: If you do not see the correct port listed, choose the
'REFRESH' button to the right of the menu. If the correct port still
does not appear, there is a problem with your connection.
Once you have the COM Port selected, select the 9600 in the drop
down to the right. Select whether or not you want to use the Text
Capture function, and then select 'OPEN'. The traffic box below
should turn white (a message will appear if a connection is not
established). Typing a capital 'G' into the traffic box will begin
downloading tag ID's. Once connected, you can also use the
Readers internal settings to download data. To do this, follow the
directions listed under 4.4 'STORED ID-CODES'.
