2.3 Powering the Reader with AC Power
To power the Reader continuously using AC power, attach the AC
Power/Communication cable endcap to the Reader, plug the AC
power supply into the AC output plug on the AC
Power/Communication cable, and then plug the AC power
supply into an
outlet. It is very important that any alkaline batteries
are REMOVED before using the Reader with AC power.
3. Getting Started
3.1 Turning the Reader On
After installing the batteries or connecting to AC power, the
Biomark 601 Handheld reader is ready for operation.
To power on the Reader, press the READ button for at least 1
second. The Reader will indicate a successful power up by
emitting a tone, a momentary flashing of the Red LED indicator,
black boxes appearing briefly on the LCD screen, and finally
displaying 'READER READY' on the LCD screen. If you have the
'LAST TAG' option enabled, instead of saying 'READER READY' the
LCD will display the last tag code detected.
NOTE: If the batteries exhibit a low charge level at power up or
when the 'READ' button is subsequently pressed for scanning a
tag, the LCD screen will display 'LOW BATTERY', and the reader
may automatically turn off.
