The first display information after the radio
completes its self test.
Liquid-Crystal Display.
A programmed combination of operating
parameters; for example, a channel or
talkgroup.
Radio programmed to automatically give the
proper operation for a given mode you have
selected.
Press a programmed monitor button to listen to
traffic on the active channel. This way, you can
avoid talking over someone else's
conversation.
A one-way alert, with audio and/or display
messages.
The PTT button engages the transmitter and
places the radio in transmit (send) operation
when pressed. Press this button to transmit,
and release it to receive.
A conventional radio feature, in which you talk
through a receive/transmit facility that re-
transmits received signals in order to improve
communications range and coverage.
Radio Frequency. A part of the general
frequency spectrum between the audio and
infrared light regions (about 10 kHz to
10,000,000 MHz).
