immediately and refill with recommended grade of oiL
CHECKING OIL LEVEL
Regardless of the change interval being followed
check the oil level (with engine hot' on the dipstick regu-

larly. Keep oil level between the
FULL
and ADD marks,
by adding oil when level is at or below ADD mark. It is
not necessary to keep the level at the
FULL
mark. Capac-
ity of the various engines will be found on Page 38
.
The four-cylinder and
six-cylinder crankcase dip-
sticks are located on the
right side of the engine as
shown in the four-cylinder
engine
illustration
shown
here. The V-8 dipstick is
located on the left side of
the engine.
Your Chevy II engine cooling system is equipped
with a 180
0
thermostat and is designed to operate
·
o n
permanent type (ethylene glycol) anti-freeze. Non-
Permanent type coolants are not recommended since
they are not satisfactory for year around use and may
not effectively inhibit corrosion of the engine cooling
