Appendix A. PCIe-to-SAS host bus adapter quick
installation instructions
The following procedure provides a brief introduction on how to install your
PCIe-to-SAS host bus adapter in your computer.
1. Unpack the host adapter and inspect it for damage.
2. Turn off the computer and remove the power cable and other devices.
3. Remove the cover from the system.
4. Insert the host adapter in an available PCI Express slot.
5. Secure the bracket to the system chassis.
6. Connect the serial cable(s) between the host adapter and the SAS hard disk
drive. For more detailed information, see "Step 4. Attaching the cables to
the drive" on page 6.
7. Put back the cover and reconnect the power cable, then start the system.
