Computer Troubleshooting
Problem
No response when the
computer is turned on.
Possible Cause
Computer is not plugged
in.
No power at the wall outlet.
Main logic board failure.
Main logic board
jumpers/switches
incorrectly set.
CPU has failed.
Power supply has failed.
Voltage select switch is set
incorrectly.
Troubleshooting
Action
Turn off the computer, plug it in,
and then turn it back on again.
Use another wall outlet.
Replace the main logic board.
Set all appropriate
jumpers/switches (Refer to Chapter
5).
Replace the CPU.
Replace the power supply.
Make sure the setting on the back
of the computer matches the
country's voltage requirements.
