8. Starting to take photographs

8.1. Setting shooting mode

When the camera is switched on, shooting mode is enabled au-
tomatically. If playback mode is enabled instead of shooting
mode, press the mode button M.

8.2. Tips for taking good shots

• The camera should not move when pressing the shutter re-
lease. Do not move the camera directly after pressing the
shutter release. Wait until the preview appears in the display.
• View the subject on the display before pressing the shutter
release.
• Check the angle if the subject is lit from behind. Change your
position to reduce the background lighting.
• In order to shoot good video clips, pan the camera slow-
ly. If you pan too quickly, the video footage will be fuzzy and
blurred.
