During the test, the treadmill gradually increases the incline
and speed in specific stages. The keypads are disabled. The
test ends if,
You press STOP.
After the first stage elapses, no heart rate signal is
detected for one minute.
You surpass your target heart rate (85% of your maximum
aerobic heart rate) at the first stage or 80% of your
maximum aerobic heart rate after any subsequent stages.
You complete the 15-minute time limit.
You must complete at least three stages of the test for it to
determine your aerobic capacity and establish your VO
Once you complete the test, a fitness score and fitness level
appear as part of the workout summary. Use it to compare to
Table 6 or Table 7.
Fitness Test Tips
Read through the following tips before selecting the Fitness
Test.
Sit and rest for at least five minutes prior to taking the
test.
You must enter your weight, age, and gender.
You can change to another program while in the midst of
taking the Fitness Test, but you will not receive a fitness
score.

If you press the red STOP button during the test, the test
ends and the display indicates whether the test was
completed.
The program profile appears slightly different in the
Fitness Test than in the other programs. The profile
combines both speed and incline in five stages. The
relationship between column height and incline settings
is shown in Diagram 17.

Important: If you need to stop the running belt to regain
control or reduce your heart rate, please do so. You can
retake the fitness test later.
