OPERATION

Like all sophisticated computer equip-
ment, the SS590 sonar has temperature

OPERATE THE SONAR ONLY WITHIN
THESE TEMPERATURE LIMITS.
Following is a brief step-by-step explana-
tion of how to operate the SS590 sonar.
1. Turn POWER Knob to HI to activate sonar.
2. Press the HOIST Switch down to lower
soundome.
3. Select working range.
4. Select scanning area (sector or 360 de-
gree).
5. Adjust Near and Far Gain for best tar-
get presentation.
PART B: OPTIONS MENU
SETTINGS
A power surge or lapse may cause your sonar
to freeze, or scramble the options menu func-
tions. If this happens,
OFF, WAIT A FEW SECONDS AND TURN IT
BACK ON.
It may be necessary to re-set the menus for
normal operation according to the guidelines
to the right.
To access the Options Menus, press down on
the RANGE RING and TILT Switches at the
same time.
Check Menu 3 "Language and Soundome Se-
lection" to be sure the correct soundome fre-
quency is still selected. If the dome selection
is incorrect, see Part E of this section.
