Configuring the SATA RAID

This section shows how to create a RAID 1 (mirror) volume with the
onboard SATA RAID function. This feature requires the installation or
presence of a Intel 6300ESB ICH I/O controller.

Enabling the onboard SATA RAID function

Load the BIOS default settings

During bootup, press F2 to enter the BIOS setup screen.

Press F9 to restore the default settings.

Press F10 to save changes and exit setup.

Enable the onboard SATA RAID function

In the BIOS setup screen, select Advanced.

Select IDE Configuration, then press Enter.

Select Configure S-ATA as RAID, then press Enter to change
option to Enabled.

Press F10 to save changes and exit setup.

Using the SATA RAID configuration utility

Turn on the system. When prompted, press Ctrl+E to enter the
Embedded RAID configuration utility.
Loading the SATA RAID default setting.

In the Management menu, select Objects, then select Adapter.
The current adapter settings appear.

Select Factory Default, then Yes to load the default settings.

Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to reboot the server.
