Checking and Adding TCP/IP
TCP/IP is the protocol used to connect to the Internet and wide-area networks. If you want to
connect to Internet, you need to set up the TCP/IP protocol.
Check the "This connection uses the following items:" list, for the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) on
it. If not available, click on Install..., select Protocol, click on Add..., and select Internet Protocol
(TCP/IP), then click on OK as shown in Figure 3-3, and click on its check box. If TCP/IP exists,
select the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click on Properties to configure XXX. Due to
different network applications there are many different setting here. You can select either Obtain an
IP address automatically or Specify an IP address. If you use the Specify IP address, then you
need to enter an IP address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway address and DNS Server IP
address for connecting to Internet.
