Folders and Files

You can manage files on your nook from a personal computer, using the provided USB cable
to connect the eReader to your computer. This lets you:
Obtain content from the Internet and place it on your eReader
Back up files

Connecting the Device to Your Computer

You connect your nook to your personal computer with the provided USB cable, as shown. If
your nook is sleeping when you plug it in, it wakes up. If it is off, it turns on.
The USB interface uses USB 1.1, which has a maximum data transfer rate of 12 Mbps.
With the nook awake, when you connect your nook to a personal computer, you are asked if
you want to connect to your personal computer. To manage files and folders, answer
Connect.

Mass Storage Mode

Mass storage mode lets you manage B&N and personal content on the internal flash memory
and on the supplemental microSD or microSDHC card, if there is one.
You cannot simultaneously manage files through USB and use your nook, so the device is
locked.
