You can also purchase nooks in selected B&N stores. These nooks are not pre-registered, but
you can register your nook immediately after purchasing it.

Manual Registration

If your nook is not pre-registered, you will need to register it. Your nook knows whether this
is necessary, and leads you through the appropriate welcome pages the first time you turn it
on.
If you cancel or otherwise do not complete registration from the welcome pages,
you can register later from Settings > Device > Register.
Two cases apply:
Specifying an existing B&N account

Creating a B&N account

To register your nook, you must be in the United States in an area with AT&T
cellular network coverage (affiliate networks and roaming don't count) or in a Barnes
& Noble Store in the United States.
Specifying an Existing B&N Account
If you already have a B&N account, specify the account information during registration. Your
nook will be associated with your account. If your B&N account does not have a default credit
card, you will have the opportunity to specify one from your nook while registering. You must
specify a default credit card to register your nook.
The information you need during registration is:
B&N account email address

 B&N account password
Credit card information (only if there is no default credit card)

