Configuring the device as a PEX

To add the device to an eIRF system as a PEX, you must change its operating mode to auto or PEX.
To configure the device as a PEX:
Step
1.
Enter system view.
2.
Change the
operating mode to
auto or PEX.
3.
Return to user view.
4.
Save the running
configuration.
5.
Reboot the device.

Configuring the device as an independent switch

You can set the device to switch mode from its CLI when the device is operating in auto mode.
To configure the device as an independent switch from its CLI:
Step
1.
Enter system view.
2.
Change the
operating mode to
switch.
3.
Return to user view.
4.
Save the running
configuration.
5.
Reboot the device.

pex working-mode { auto | pex } { all | slot
slot-number1 [ to slot-number2 ] }
