Front Gearcase Oil

Oil Check

Always check and change the front gearcase oil at the intervals
outlined in the Periodic Maintenance Chart beginning on page 62.
Maintain the oil level at the bottom of the fill plug threads. We
recommend the use of Polaris ATV Angle Drive Fluid. See page 113
for the part numbers of Polaris products.
1. Position the ATV on a level
surface.
2. Remove the fill plug (1) and check
the oil level.
3. Add the recommended oil as
needed.
4. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to
14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
Oil Change
1. Position the ATV on a level surface.
2. Remove the fill plug.
3. Place a drain pan beneath the gearcase, remove the gearcase drain
plug, and drain the oil. Discard used oil properly.
4. Clean and reinstall the drain plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
5. Add 4 oz. (120 ml) of the recommended gearcase oil.
6. Reinstall the fill plug. Torque to 14 ft. lbs. (19 Nm).
7. Check for leaks.
