Rust-Rub the spot with a clean cloth saturated with

warm soap suds; rinse by rubbing with a cloth dipped in cold
water. After the fabric has dried, treat the remaining stain
as if it were an ink
spot,
Mildew-Fresh mildew stains can
be
removed by rubbing vigorously
with a cloth soaked in warm soap suds; then rinse by rubbing with a
cloth dipped in cold water. The only treatment recommended for
removing discoloration caused by old mildew growths is an oxalic
acid treatment. Pour enough 10 per cent oxalic acid solution on cloth
-
t o completely cover stain. Allow to stand a minute. Then remove
acid by alternate blotting with dry blotting paper and pouring cold
or hot water on stain.
Nausea-Before the stain has had a chance to dry, sponge with a
clean cloth, dipped in clear cold water. After most of the stain has
been removed, wash lightly with soap, using a clean cloth and luke-
warm water. Rub with another clean cloth dipped in cold water.
Should any stain remain, gently rub clean with a cloth moistened with
a volatile cleaner.
Shoe
Polish
and Dressings-Allow white polish to be-
come
dry.
Then brush the spot vigorously with a brush.
Rub the stain from black or -tan polish gently with a
cloth wet with a volatile cleaner until spot is removed.
Use a clean portion of the cloth for each rubbing operation
.
Urine-Sponge stain with a clean cloth wet with luke-
warm soap suds. Rinse well by rubbing the stain with a
clean cloth dipped in cold water. Saturate cloth with a
mixture of oue part household ammonia water and five
parts water and apply to stain. After one minute rinse by
with clean wet cloth.
