    BEFORE YOU BEGIN WELCOmE! Thank you for purchasing SlingCatcher. SlingCatcher allows you to watch digital video on your TV. With the included remote control, you can sit back on your couch and watch video from your Slingbox, or movies and Internet video from your PC.

  • Page 5: Step 3 : Connect The Audio Cables

    STEP 3 : CONNECT ThE AUdIO CAbLES 1. First, choose the device that you want to send sound to. You can set up SlingCatcher to send audio to your TV, your stereo or your A/V receiver. To connect the cables properly, it’s easiest to start by looking at the back of your TV, stereo or A/V receiver.
  • Page 6 If the audio device for audio that you’ve chosen has a digital audio connection, connect a digital audio cable (not included) to the digital audio connector on SlingCatcher and then to the corresponding INPUT connector on your device.
  • Page 7 HDMI : HDMI cables carry both audio and video. If you’ve already connected an HDMI cable to your SlingCatcher and to your TV, you’re done. If not, connect the HDMI cable to the back of SlingCatcher and to the HDMI connector on your TV.
  • Page 8 STEP 5 : CONNECT SLINgCATChER TO yOUR NETwORk If you plan to connect your SlingCatcher via Ethernet to your home network, connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet jack on the back of SlingCatcher. Plug the other end into an unused Ethernet port on your router.
  • Page 9 STEP 7 : TURN ON yOUR TV Wait 1 minute for SlingCatcher and your TV to warm up. If necessary, change your TV video input source setting to match the input that you’ve connected SlingCatcher to. It may not be obvious how to change the input source setting on your TV. Again, you may need to refer to the manual for your TV for information.

    USING SLINGCATCHER USINg ThE REMOTE CONTROL You can use the SlingCatcher remote control to control both SlingCatcher, as well as any Slingboxes that you have access to on your home network or on the Internet. When you’re watching video from a Slingbox, most of the buttons on the SlingCatcher remote will control your cable/satellite set-top box, DVD player, or Slingbox TV tuner.

    2. Check the video cables. They should be connected correctly to your TV and to SlingCatcher (See page 5 of this manual). 3. If this is a first setup or installation, SlingCatcher may not be outputting a video format that can be accepted by your TV. Press the enter button every 5 seconds until you see the SlingCatcher Welcome screen clearly on your TV.
