CARE OF THE A IRPLANE
If
your
airplane
is
to
retain
that
new-plane
performance, s
tamina, and
dependability, certain
inspection and
maintenance
requir ements must
be
followed.
It
is always wise to follow a planned schedule
of lubr
ication
and
maintenance based
on
the climatic
and flying
conditi
ons
encounter
ed in
your locality
.
Keep
in
touc
h
with
your

deal
er
,
and
take
advantage
of his
knowl
edge
and
experience
.
He knows
your airplane
and
how
to
maintai
n
it.
He
will
remind
you
when lubrications
and
oil
c hange
s
are
necessary
and
about other
seasonal
and

eriodi
c services.
GROUND
HANDLING.
T
he airplane is most
easily and safely
maneuver ed
by
hand
with
a
tow
-
bar
attac
hed to the nose
wheel.
NOTE

MOORING YOUR AIRPLANE.
Proper
tie-down
is
the best
precaution agai nst damage
to
your parked
air
plane
by
gusty
or
strong winds
.
To
tie down
your airplane securely,
proceed
as follows:
(1) Set
parking brake and
install contr
ol
wheel
lock.
(2)
Install
a surface control
lock
between each
ailer
on
and
flap
.
(3) Tie sufficiently
strong
ropes
or
chains
(700
pounds tensile
str
ength)
to
wing
and
tail
tie -down fittings,
and secure
each
r
ope
