RADIO TRANSMITTER SELECTOR SWITCH

normal
as
cover ed in
the

-
tive
radio
manuals.
When
the
aircraft
is
equipped
with
more than
one
radio
having
transmitter
capabilities,
a
transmitter
selector
switch
is
installed
to
switch the microphone to
the
radio
unit the
pilot desires to
use
for transmission.
The
switch is
located
in
the upper
center
portion
of the instrument
panel
and is
labeled
"TRANS,
1
and 2."
Placing
the
switch in the upper
position,
labeled "
1,"
switches the microphone to the
upper transmitter;.
the
lower position,
labeled "2,"
switches
the micro-
phone
to
the
lower
transmitter.

airspeed

The true airspeed
indicator
has
a
cali
brated
r
otatable
ring
whi
ch works i
n
conj unction
with
the
airspeed
indicator
dial
in
a
manner similar
to
the
operation
of
a
flight
computer
.
TO

TRUE AIRSPEED,

otate

ing until
pressure
altitude

s aligned
with
outside air
temper
ature in degrees
Fahrenheit.
Then
r
ead tru
e
airspeed on
r otatable
ring
opposite airspeed
needle.
NOTE
Pressure
altitude
should not
be
confused
wit
h indicated
altitude
.
To
obtain pressure
altitude,
set barometric
scale
on altimeter
to
"29. 9
2"
and
read pressure altitude
on altimeter
.
Be sure
to
return altimeter barometric
scale
to original
barometric
setting after pressure alti-
tude
has
been obtained.
