Product Summary
The Hardwire Interior Speaker and Piezo produces
low-volume status sounds and high-volume siren
sounds with voice alarm messages.
Install these sirens in areas where the user can always
hear what is happening on the premises. The unit
includes an 8-ohm, 15- to 20-watt speaker and a single
piezo and broadcasts voice messages, siren sounds,
and status beeps.
Each unit draws a maximum 75 mA of current and can
deliver an 80dB siren level in high-level alarm.

Installation Guidelines

The Hardwire Interior Speaker and Piezo can be
mounted anywhere indoors. Locate this device in
interior areas where the system status and siren
sounds need to be heard.

A maximum of two speakers (per panel) is
allowed. Wire multiple speakers in series and
piezos in parallel.
ν
Use 4-conductor, 22-gauge stranded wire.

Installation

1.
Turn off the panel power switch.
2.
Run a 22 gauge or greater, 4-conductor stranded
wire cable from the panel to the speaker location.
3.
Remove the speaker's front cover by removing
the two bottom screws.
4.
Remove the four screws that secure the speaker/
piezo assembly and pull the assembly off the
base.
5.
Feed the cable through the circular cut-out in the
back of the base.
6.
Mount the base to the wall with the appropriate
anchors and screws.
7.
Attach the speaker/piezo assembly to the base.

CareTaker Wiring

1.
Connect the wires from the speaker to the two left
screws and the wires from the single piezo to the
two right screws.
2.
Make wiring connections between one speaker
and piezo and the panel as shown in Figure 1.
Note:
Be sure to install the 1-amp fuse in the circuit as
shown in Figure 1. This helps protect the panel's
speaker output from short circuits that may
cause damage to the panel's circuit board.
