Device Manager status information
In the following example, three LUNs are being presented to the
server, but because there are two paths to the storage, the number
of listed SCSI Disk Devices is duplicated. With multipathing
support enabled, Device Manager also shows three Multi-Path
Disk Devices, one for each LUN.
This example also shows multipathing support enabled on the
HBAs.

Recovering from failover situations
For some failover events, sufficient information is provided in the
monitoring tools to assist the diagnosis and repair of the problem.
If information regarding the cause of the failover event is not
available, examine the following items in the failed path:
Cable connections of each device:
— Server
— HBA
— Switch
— MSA I/O module
HBA health
Switch health
MSA controller health
Schedule a system maintenace window as needed to reseat or
replace any faulty hardware.
Note:
When the MSA is restarted, controller1 (the primary, right
controller) is made the active controller. If a problem still exists on the
primary path, the system automatically fails over to the redundant
path.
Uninstalling Windows basic failover
1. Verify that only the primary path (connected to the I/O
module behind controller1) is connected between the server
and the MSA.
Only one path to the storage can be visible when uninstalling
MPIO.
If necessary, disconnect the cables to the redundant path.
2. From the server, select Start > Settings > Control Panel.
3. Select Add/Remove Programs.
4. Select HP Modular Smart Array Multi Path Software,
click Remove, and then follow any onscreen instructions.
5. Restart the server.
6. Repeat these steps on each server with access to the MSA.
Uninstalling Linux basic failover
To uninstall the components from the driver kit, use the
INSTALL script with the -u option:
# ./INSTALL -u
If you want to manually uninstall all the components, or you want
to uninstall just one of the components, use one or all of the
following commands:
# rpm -e fibreutils
# rpm -e hp_qla2x00
# rpm -e hp_qla2x00src
