Technicolor TG588v v2 – Manual Configuration
Note: We recommend changes made to this router are performed by a computer using a Windows
operating system and connected via an Ethernet cable. Using a computer with a MAC operating
system or wireless device may cause issues and settings may no save correctly. If the router has been
previously configured using one of these devices it is best to factory reset the router before
continuing with a computer using Windows.
The following guide shows how to manually configure a Technicolor TG588v v2 router to work with
an FTTC or ADSL.
It is recommended the router is first factory reset before following this guide. This can be achieved
by holding a paperclip in the reset hole for 15 seconds, located on the rear of the unit.
Using a web browser navigate to 192.168.1.1 and click sign in.

  • Page 5 The default settings for MTU (1500), ATM VP (0), ATM VC (38), and Encapsulation Type (VCMUX) can be left as they are. Click on Save to complete the process. The TG588v v2 has now been configured. Please allow a few minutes for the router to try and connect with the new settings.
