    STARTER 300 portable pH meter to avoid incorrect operation. The STARTER 300 has an excellent price/performance ratio and is designed with many useful features including a table top stand, a labeling area, an electrode clip and a wrist strap. Other accessories such as electrodes, pH buffer power set are also available from OHAUS.

    3.1.1 Buffer group The STARTER 300 pH meter allows you to perform 1-, 2- or 3- point calibrations. The 4 buffer group is predefined in the meter, after selecting your calibration buffer group among the 4 group in the meter(4.4), the buffers are automatically recognized and displayed during calibration (auto buffer recognition).

    3.1.3 Performing 2-point calibration • Step 1: Perform the first calibration as described above in "Performing 1-point calibration". • Step 2: Rinse the electrode with pure water. • Step 3: Place the electrode in the next calibration buffer and press Cal The calibration icon and the measurement icon appear on the display.

    3.4.1 Storing a reading The STARTER 300 pH meter can store up to 30 endpointed results. Press Store when the measurement has endpointed. M01 indicates that one result has been stored. If you press Store when M30 is displayed, FUL indicates the memory is full. To store further data you will have to clear the memory (see below).

    Meter maintenance Never unscrew the two halves of the housing! The STARTER 300 series instruments do not require any maintenance other than occasional wipe with a damp cloth and the replacement of depleted batteries. The housing is made of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS). This material is attacked by some organic solvents, such as toluene, xylene and methyl ethyl ketone (MEK).
