Adjust the zoom before you start the procedure.
1 Open the manual focus screen.
2 Touch a subject that appears inside the (_ frame.
The Touch AF mark (_[,) will flash and the focusing distance will be
adjusted automatically. You have the option to further adjust the
focus manually as necessary.
You can touch [MF] instead to adjust the focus manually without
activating the Touch AF function.
The manual focus controls appear.
Touch [MF] again to return the camcorder to autofocus.
3 Touch and hold [aA.] or [i] to adjust the focus.
The focusing distance displayed will change as you adjust the focus.
The focusing distance will be displayed for about 2 seconds. You can
change the units used for the distance display with the al_ _" @ I--_
@ [Displayed Units] setting.
The center of the screen will be magnified to help you focus more
easily. You can also turn off this function with the n_" @ _ @
[Focus Assistance] setting.
If you wish to focus on faraway subjects such as mountains or
fireworks, touch and hold [_] until the focusing distance changes
to OO.
4 Touch IX] to lock the focus at the selected distance.
During manual focus, [MF] will appear on the screen.
