Touch the flash mode setting button on the screen.

The shutter speed is slow in a dark place to clearly shoot the background that is out of flash light.

Macro/Close focus enabled (Shooting close-up)
Touch the Macro/Close focus mode setting button on the screen.
:AUTO:
Auto
The camera adjusts the focus automatically from distant subjects to close-up.
Normally, put the camera in this mode.
~: Macro On
The camera adjusts the focus with priority on close-up subjects.
Set Macro On when shooting close subjects.

Close focus enabled
Locked to the W side: Approx. I to 20 em (13/32 to 77/8 inches)

Changing the screen display
Touch [DISP] on the screen to change to the display selection screen.
Display Setup:
This sets whether or not to display the buttons and icons on the screen.
Select from [Normal], [Simple] or [Image Only].
Display Histogram:
This sets whether or not to display the histogram on the screen.
LCD Brightness:
This sets the backlight brightness.
