To access to the area over 4 GB
The data capacity of a single-layer and single-sided DVD disc
is up to 4.7 GB, a dual-layer and double-sided DVD disc has
up to 8.5 GB.
After installing the driver using the supplied install disk,
Windows 95 can read the DVD-ROM disc. However,
depending on the version of Windows 95, any files
containing over 4 GB may not be able to be read due to the
limitation of the OS file system.
To check the version of your Windows 95, using the mouse
button on the right, click the "My Computer" icon, then click
"Properties" on the Shortcut menu.
If the following version number of Windows 95 appears;
"4.00.950" or "4.00.950a"
the file contained over 4 GB can not be read. That means the
maximum data capacity of a single-layer and single-sided
DVD-ROM disc or dual-layer and double-sided DVD-ROM
disc may not be able to be read and operating the programme
may cause a malfunction.
If the following version number of Windows 95 appears;
"4.00.950 B"
you can access all of the DVD disc. The display shown above
called "OSR2 (OEM Service Release 2)," is a version of
Windows 95 pre-installed.
The data capacity of the DVD disc displayed on the explorer
may not be the exact number. This is caused by the limitation
of the explorer function and this is not a malfunction even if a
smaller number of the data capacity of the DVD disc than the
exact number is displayed.
