You can operate the base station's answer
machine using the handset, using the key-
pad of the base station (page 1), or using
remote operation (from another phone/
cell phone).
Announcement mode
You can use the answer machine in two
different modes.
u
In
Answer & Rec.
your announcement and can then
leave a message.
u
In
Answer Only
your announcement but cannot leave a
message.
Operation using the base station
keys
You can use the base station keys for the
most commonly used functions of your
answer machine. For more information,
see page 2.

Answer machine is off.

"0": no new messages.

Number above "0": number of old mes-
sages.

Number flashes: number of new mes-
sages.

"--" flashes: memory is full

"A": answer machine is being accessed
remotely or is playing an announce-
ment.

Operation using the handset
While recording a message, you can auto-
matically listen through the loudspeakers
of the base station, if you have activated
call screening (see page 19).
You can also listen through the loudspeak-
ers of registered handsets:

The phone includes a prerecorded
announcement for the answer and record
mode and announce-only mode. If a per-
sonal announcement has not been
recorded, the corresponding prerecorded
announcement is used.
