Figure 17 Installing the switch in the rack Mounting the switch on a workbench CAUTION: Ensure 10 cm (3.94 in) of clearance around the switch. • Do not place heavy objects on the switch. • If a standard 19-inch rack is not available, you can place you switch on a workbench.
Connecting the grounding cable for an S5820X-26S switch The S5820X-26S switch has three grounding points, as shown in Figure H3C recommends that you use the primary grounding point. Figure 19 Grounding points of the S5820X-26S switch (1) Auxiliary grounding point 2 (2) Primary grounding point...
Connect one end of the grounding cable to the grounding point on the switch. See Figure Attach the other end (ring terminal) of the grounding cable to a grounding post on the grounding strip, and secure the grounding cable to the grounding post by using a hex nut. Figure 21 Connecting one end of the grounding cable to the S5820X-28S switch To connect the other end of the grounding cable to a grounding strip: Cut the grounding cable to a length according to the distance between the switch and the grounding strip. Peel 5 mm (0.20 in) of insulation sheath from the end, and then insert the naked metal part through the black insulation covering into the end of the ring terminal.
The switch supports hot-swappable fan trays. Table 4 lists the fan trays available for the switch. For more information about the fan trays, see H3C LSW1FAN & LSW1BFAN Installation Manual and H3C LSWM1FANSC & LSWM1FANSCB Installation Guide. Table 4 Installing fan trays...
