Heat Dissipation The RG-S6200 series supports the heat dissipation scheme which combines the front-to-back air passage with power backward heat dissipation, thereby ensuring the device to function normally in the specified environment. Sufficient space (20 cm distance from both sides and the back plane of the cabinet) should be reserved to allow air circulation.

Preparation Before Installation Safety Suggestions To avoid personal injury and device damage, read carefully the safety suggestions before you install the RG-S6200 series. The following safety suggestions do not cover all possible dangers. Safety Precautions for Installing the System ...
Do not stare into any optical port under any circumstances, as this may cause permanent damage to your eyes. Installation Site Requirements The RG-S6200 series must be used indoors. To ensure the normal working and a prolonged durable life of the device, the installation site must meet the following requirements. Ventilation For the RG-S6200 series, you must ensure that sufficient space (10 cm distance from both sides and the back panel of the cabinet) is reserved at the ventilation openings to ensure the normal ventilation.
Page 16
Therefore, the ambient temperature and humidity of the RG-S6200 must meet the requirements listed in Table 2-1: Table 2-1 Temperature and humidity requirements of the RG-S6200 series Temperature Relative Humidity 0ºC–50ºC...

System Grounding A good grounding system is the basis for the stable and reliable operation of the RG-S6200 series. It is the chief condition to prevent lightning stroke and resist interference. Please carefully check the grounding conditions on the installation site according to the grounding requirements, and perform grounding operations properly as required.
Lightning Resistance Considerations When the AC power cable is imported outdoors and directly connected to the power port of the switch, lightning line bank should be adopted to prevent the switch from being hit by lightning shocks. The lightning line bank can be fixed on the cabinet, work station, or the wall of the equipment room through line buckles and screws.

Please prepare tools on your own.
Product Installation Ensure that you have carefully read Chapter 2.Make sure that the requirements set forth in Chapter 2 have been met. Installation Process Confirmations Before Installation Before installation, confirm the following points: Whether sufficient airflow is available for the switch...
During the installation, fasten the pallet onto the rack and then place the front panel of the switch to the pallet. Fix the switch to the pallet and rack with screws. Because the depth and weight of the RG-S6200 series switch are 690 mm and 13.5 kg, the switch can be fastened with the pallet first, and then fastened onto the rack of the cabinet;...
Mounting the Switch to the Desktop In several cases, users do not have the 19-inch standard cabinets. In this case, the most frequent method is to mount the switch to a clean workstation. Step 1: Attach the four adhesive rubber pads provided in the carton onto the indentations on the four corners at the bottom of the switch.
Page 25
Step 3: Align the M6200-16XS to the guide rail of the extension port, and push it to the switch along the rail horizontally and slowly. When hearing “da”, which means the extension module, is inserted into the switch closely, fix the screws on the transition board.
Page 26
Insert the power module smoothly. Pay attention to the direction of the power panel to avoid the wrong insertion. If the position is not proper, you must withdraw the inserted module and then re-insert it. Removing the Power Module The process of removing the power module is reverse to the installation. Step 1: Wear the anti-static gloves.
Page 27
Step 2: Dismantle the blank panel of the fan supply, take the plane with the PCB in vertical view as the top plane, hold the end of the fan module with both hands, insert it to the chassis slowly along the guide rail until it is fully seated, and make sure that it is in good contact with the its slot, as shown in Figure 3-6.
Checking After Installation Before checking the installation, switch off the power supply to avoid personal injury or damage to the component due to connection errors. Check whether the ground line is connected. Check whether the cables and power input cables are correctly connected. ...
