Connect your Nucleus
directly to the DAW computer using a standard network cable, and check that the IP address is set

OS X does not currently allow two ports to be used for IP traffic – your main network connection will become
unavailable when using Nucleus
• On the Mac, open the Network control panel in System
Preferences and use the LOCATION: drop-down to create
a new location. Next, select the Mac Ethernet port to
which you have connected Nucleus
to Using DHCP (as shown). The computer will 'fall over'
to a static IP address in the link local range.
On OSX version 10.11 'El Capitan', a router address will be
required for two-way data communications. For this
reason you will need to manually enter a static IP address
with a 'Router' address. Set Configure ipv4: to Manually,
IP Address: to 169.254.1.1, Subnet Mask: to 255.255.0.0,
and Router: address to the IP address of the console,
typically 169.254.1.2.
• Launch the Nucleus
